FeBREWary at The Artists Hand Gallery and Espresso Bar!

 *Celebrate the thaw by visiting our gallery and espresso bar this month and by enjoying these upcoming events! Along with some great workshops, there will be events that are sure to warm you up! Here’s a taste of what’s to come, and you can check out our Facebook page for more!*
        


THROW IT IN THE OCEAN: The Works of IUP 3-D Design Students
Show Opening Feb. 7, 6-8pm: Come celebrate the opening of this exhibition and support IUP Art students who have created ocean life using recycled materials! While you can view the exhibition from Feb 4-Mar 1, the opening reception is sure to be something special! Music will be provided by Alyssa Hankey. Come out and support student work! A FREE EVENT!


CHILDREN’S MAKE-AND-TAKE WORKSHOPS: 10am or 12pm Sessions!
Feb. 8: Cartooning for Fun! IUP Art Studio major Megan Sowers will share her expertise in the creation of cartoon figure!
Feb. 15: Collages! Colleen will walk students through the art of creating collage using magazines and found objects.


Classes are $20 each per child. Call in or stop by to
register!        

PHOTOGRAPHY: A Series of Talks by Ron Juliette
Feb. 8, 3pm: Why Great Photographers Are Control Freaks and Why You Should Be Too-designed for the beginning photographer, or anyone who wants to take better photographs. Bring a digital SLR or an equivalent camera! Cost is $35, students $20. To register, give us a call or pop in for a visit!



UNPLUGGED: VALENTINE’S EDITION with WIUP-FM
Feb. 14, 5-8pm: IUP's radio station brings a special Valentine's Day event to our gallery! Enjoy a musical line-up consisting of Jason David Gamble, Alex Salyers, Moses and Meg, Alyssa Hankey, and Doug Kallin Music. Check out their Facebook event page for more! THE GARDEN IN A BOWL: Indiana Community Garden
Feb. 15, 5-8pm: At the ICG’s 2nd Annual Fundraiser, you will receive a uniquely handcrafted pottery bowl by a local artist. Use your bowl to sample a variety of delicious soups donated by local chefs and restaurants! Plus, the bowl is yours to keep! Jason Gamble will lend his musical talents, and the auction has some great stuff to offer! Tickets are available at the Gallery for $25 or $15 for IUP students and must be purchased beforehand!
